Is there a way to see the name of the company that holds the mortgage on a property? I was able to see the name of a company for an address in Florida. Does MD have an online website that will give you name of company a person has for a mortgage on a certain property. We have a judgment against someone and want to try to find out how much equity is in their home.

The Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation provides a real property data search on their official website which is free. The information provided includes but is not limited to the owners name and mailing address, a description of the property, seller information including deeds, foreclosure management company, type of sale and price, and of course the base value.

Also available on line for Maryland are Public Release Data Files. These include real property public data records and real property sales files.

Another avenue for searching property records is the county clerk's office. Land records recorded with the county clerk include deeds, mortgages and deeds of trust, leases, releases of mortgages and deeds of trust as well as land contracts.

In Florida you would find similar information through the same government agencies. The county tas assessor or the county clerk's office would be the optimum place to begin your search.
