Banks County Georgia Public Records

Banks County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 18,395. The county seat is Homer. The county was created on December 11, 1858 and named for Dr. Richard E. Banks, a state legislator.

Banks County is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners, which is elected from single-member districts. The Board of Commissioners is responsible for setting the county's tax rate, adopting the annual budget, and setting policies for county government. The county is also served by a Superior Court Judge, a State Court Judge, a Probate Judge, a Sheriff, a Clerk of Court, a Tax Commissioner, and a Coroner.

The county is part of the Gainesville, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
