Bleckley County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 13,063. The county seat is Cochran. The county was created on August 17, 1912.

Government
Bleckley County is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners, elected from single-member districts. The Chairman of the Board is elected county-wide.
The county is also served by a Superior Court Judge, elected county-wide, and a State Court Judge, elected from the county at-large.
Demographics
As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 13,063 people, 4,845 households, and 3,521 families residing in the county. The population density was 43.3 inhabitants per square mile (16.7/km2). There were 5,541 housing units at an average density of 18.2 per square mile (7.0/km2). The racial makeup of the county was 63.2% white, 34.2% black or African American, 0.4% Asian, 0.3% American Indian, 0.7% from other races, and 1.2% from two or more races. Those of Hispanic or Latino origin made up 1.7% of the population. In terms of ancestry, 16.2% were American, 8.2% were English, and 6.2% were Irish.
Of the 4,845 households, 34.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 17.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 28.7% were non-families, and 25.2% of all households were made up of individuals. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.11. The median age was 38.2 years.

The per capita income for the county was $17,945.
