Wisconsin residents can register to vote online at https://myvote.wi.gov until 20 days before an election, or register in person at their municipal clerk's office or polling place on Election Day with proper proof of residence. Acceptable identification includes a Wisconsin driver's license, state ID card, U.S. Passport, military ID, or tribal ID. Municipal elections in the city occur during spring of odd-numbered years for mayor, city council alderpersons representing six wards, and other offices. Wisconsin maintains public access to election records under state law. Voter registration lists are available for inspection at the Walworth County Clerk's office for legitimate purposes. Campaign finance reports for local, county, and state candidates are searchable through the Wisconsin Ethics Commission at https://ethics.wi.gov, showing contributions and expenditures. Precinct-level election results are posted on the Walworth County website after certification. Wisconsin does not have a U.S.Current federal, state, and local election schedules, ballot contests, candidate filings, and certified results for Lake voters are published by the Wisconsin Elections Commission (https://elections.wi.gov/). To request an absentee ballot in Wisconsin, voters can apply online at https://myvote.wi.gov, by mail, email, or in person at the Lake Geneva City Clerk's office or Walworth County Clerk's office. Absentee ballot applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. On the Thursday before the election, and ballots must be returned by 8:00 p.m. On Election Day to be counted. Wisconsin allows in-person absentee voting starting two weeks before an election.
