Bee County is located in South Texas and is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county seat is Beeville.
Bee County is governed by a four-member Commissioners Court, with each member representing one of four precincts. The county judge presides as chairman. Other elected officials include the sheriff, district attorney, county clerk, county treasurer, county tax assessor-collector, and county surveyor.
The county is served by the Bee County Appraisal District, Bee County Emergency Services District, Bee County Groundwater Conservation District, Bee County Road and Bridge District, and Bee County Water Control and Improvement District.
The county is represented in the Texas House of Representatives by District 34, and in the Texas Senate by District 21.
In the U.S. House of Representatives, Bee County is part of Texas's 27th congressional district.
