About Benton County, Washington
Benton County is located in the south-central region of Washington State. It is bordered by the Columbia River to the north, the Yakima River to the east, and the Snake River to the south. The county seat is Prosser.
Benton County is governed by a five-member Board of County Commissioners. The county is divided into five districts, each of which is represented by one commissioner. The commissioners are elected to four-year terms. The county is also served by a county executive, who is appointed by the commissioners.
The county is home to several state parks, including Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, Sacajawea State Park, and Steamboat Rock State Park. The county also has several wineries and vineyards, as well as a number of museums and historical sites.
