Camp County is located in the northeastern part of Texas and is part of the Texarkana metropolitan area. The county seat is Pittsburg.
Camp County is governed by a four-member Commissioners Court, with one commissioner representing each of the four precincts in the county. The county judge is the presiding officer of the court, and is elected county-wide. Other members of the court are the county clerk, district clerk, sheriff, and tax assessor-collector, all of whom are elected county-wide.
The county is home to several historic sites, including the Camp County Courthouse, which was built in 1884 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Other historic sites include the Old Town Spring Historic District, the Old Town Spring Cemetery, and the Thomas Bridge.
The economy of Camp County is largely based on agriculture, with cotton, hay, and other crops being the primary crops. Other industries include wood products, manufacturing, and tourism.
