About Clark County, Missouri
Clark County is located in the northeastern corner of Missouri. It is bordered by Scotland County to the north, Lewis County to the east, Knox County to the south, and Adair County to the west. The county seat is Kahoka. The county was organized in 1836.
Clark County is governed by a three-member County Commission, which is elected in partisan elections for four-year terms. The County Commission is responsible for setting policy, levying taxes, and approving the budget. The County Commission also appoints a County Clerk, who is responsible for keeping records and issuing licenses.
The county is home to the Mark Twain National Forest and the Mark Twain Lake State Park. Agriculture is the primary industry in the county, with corn, soybeans, and wheat being the main crops.
