About Custer County, Colorado
Custer County is located in the south-central region of Colorado. It is bordered by Fremont County to the north, Pueblo County to the east, Huerfano County to the south, and Saguache County to the west. The county seat is Westcliffe.
The county government consists of a three-member Board of County Commissioners, elected at-large to four-year terms, and a County Administrator. The county is also served by a Sheriff, Coroner, Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, Treasurer, Surveyor, and District Attorney.
The county is home to several state parks and recreation areas, including the San Isabel National Forest, the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness, and the Wet Mountain Valley. The county also contains several ghost towns, including Rosita, Silver Cliff, and Westcliffe.
