Douglas County is located in the U.S. state of Washington. The county seat is Waterville. The county was created out of Stevens County on November 28, 1883.
Douglas County is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners. The commissioners are elected from three districts within the county. The county also has a number of other elected officials, including a sheriff, prosecutor, auditor, treasurer, assessor, and clerk.
The county is home to several state parks, including Bridgeport State Park, Lake Chelan State Park, and Wells Dam State Park. The county also has several national forests, including the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and the Colville National Forest.
