Franklin County is located in the western part of Massachusetts and is the only county in the state that is not part of any metropolitan area. The county seat is Greenfield.

Franklin County Superior Court is located in Greenfield, Massachusetts. It is a trial court of general jurisdiction with jurisdiction over civil and criminal cases.
