Gentry County is located in northwest Missouri and covers an area of 527 square miles. The population of the county is 6,541 according to the 2019 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau. Gentry County is divided into seven townships whose governments are responsible for local affairs. The county government is headed by a three-person county commission which has executive and legislative authority. The commission is elected by the voters every four years and consists of one member from each of the seven townships. The other elected offices are Assessor, Attorney, Circuit Clerk, Collector, Coroner, Prosecuting Attorney, Presiding Commissioner, Public Administrator, Recorder of Deeds, Sheriff and Treasurer.
