About Grant County, Washington
Grant County is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners. The commissioners are elected to four-year terms. The county is divided into three districts, each of which is represented by one commissioner. The commissioners are responsible for setting county policy, approving the budget, and appointing department heads.
The county also has a Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, Assessor, Auditor, Treasurer, and Clerk.
Grant County is located in the southeastern corner of Washington State. It is bordered by Adams County to the north, Lincoln County to the east, Franklin County to the south, and Douglas County to the west. The county covers an area of 2,735 square miles, making it the second largest county in the state. The county seat is Ephrata.
The economy of Grant County is largely based on agriculture, with wheat, barley, and alfalfa being the main crops. The county is also home to several large industries, including a nuclear power plant, a wind farm, and a large dairy. The county also has a growing tourism industry, with several popular attractions, such as the Columbia River, the Grand Coulee Dam, and the Moses Lake State Park.
