Henry County is located in the northwestern corner of Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The county seat is Clinton, and the largest city is Clinton. The County was organized in 1834.
The county is governed by a three-member county commission, elected from single-member districts. The county also has a county executive, elected at-large.
The county is served by the Clinton School District, which includes Clinton High School, Clinton Middle School, and Clinton Elementary School. The county also has several private schools, including St. Mary's Catholic School and Clinton Christian Academy.
The county is home to several parks, including Big Creek State Park, which offers camping, fishing, and boating. Other parks include the Henry County Conservation Area, which offers hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, and the Henry County Historical Society Museum, which features artifacts from the county's history.
