Residents of Hensley cast their ballots under the administration of the Saline County Election Commission, Suite 4, Benton, AR 72015, phone (501) 303-5617, website www.salinecounty.org/election-commission. This office manages voter registration, early voting, absentee ballots, polling place assignments, and all election operations for Saline County. Arkansas residents can register online at www.sos.arkansas.gov/elections/voter-information/voter-registration or submit a paper application to the County Election Commission.
Registration must be completed at least 30 days before an election to participate. The state requires voters to present identification such as a driver's license, U.S. Passport, employee ID with photo, concealed carry permit, U.S. Military ID, public assistance ID, college student ID, Arkansas voter verification card, or a document showing name and address. Because Hensley is unincorporated without municipal government, there are no city or mayoral elections here. Instead, voters participate in county, state, and federal contests. County races include positions for county judge, sheriff, circuit clerk, county clerk, treasurer, assessor, coroner, justices of the peace, and constables. To locate their assigned polling place, residents can visit the Arkansas Secretary of State's polling place lookup at www.voterview.ar-nova.org or contact the Election Commission directly. Early voting runs for 15 days before Election Day, excluding Sundays, at the Election Commission office and designated sites. Election records in Arkansas, including voter registration lists with certain personal information redacted, campaign finance reports, candidate filings, and precinct-level results, are public records available through the Secretary of State's website at www.sos.arkansas.gov/elections and the County Election Commission. In the November 2024 presidential election, Saline County recorded approximately 74,000 registered voters with turnout exceeding 60%, showing strong civic participation. Looking ahead to November 3, 2026, voters here will decide several significant races. Arkansas will hold elections for Governor, as Sarah Huckabee Sanders' first term ends January 2027, all four U.S. House seats representing Arkansas districts, all 100 Arkansas House of Representatives seats, 17 of 35 Arkansas Senate seats in even-numbered districts, and various county offices including constitutional officers whose terms expire. The U.S. Senate seat held by Tom Cotton is not up for election in 2026, though John Boozman's seat will be on the ballot. Voters will also weigh in on any statewide ballot measures, state constitutional amendments, and local ballot issues. To request an absentee ballot in Arkansas, voters must submit an Absentee Ballot Application to the Saline County Election Commission by mail or in person no later than 7 days before Election Day. Applications are available at www.salinecounty.org or the Secretary of State's website. Arkansas law requires an excuse for absentee voting, including being unavoidably absent from the polling place on Election Day, illness or physical disability, or serving as an election worker in another precinct.
