Wells County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. Its county seat is Alice. The county was founded in 1911.
Wells County is part of the Alice, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also part of the Corpus Christi-Kingsville-Alice, TX Combined Statistical Area.
The county is governed by a four-member Commissioners Court, with each member representing one of four precincts in the county. The county judge presides as chairman. Other elected officials include the sheriff, district attorney, county clerk, county treasurer, county tax assessor-collector, and county surveyor.
