Mcculloch County is located in Central Texas, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The county seat is Brady. The County is part of the San Angelo, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The county government is organized into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. The executive branch is headed by the County Judge, who is elected county-wide. The legislative branch consists of a Commissioners Court, which is composed of four commissioners elected from single-member districts. The judicial branch is composed of the County Court at Law, the District Court, and the Justice of the Peace Court.
The county is home to the historic Camp Colorado, a Civil War-era fort. The county is also home to the world-famous Heart of Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
