About Montgomery County, Texas
Montgomery County is located in the southeastern part of Texas and is part of the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area. The county seat is Conroe.
Montgomery County is governed by a five-member Commissioners Court, with the County Judge presiding. The other four members are the Precinct 1 Commissioner, Precinct 2 Commissioner, Precinct 3 Commissioner, and Precinct 4 Commissioner. The County Judge is elected county-wide, while the other four Commissioners are elected by the voters in their respective precincts.
The Montgomery County government provides services such as law enforcement, road maintenance, parks and recreation, public health, and library services. The county also operates a number of courts, including the County Court at Law, District Courts, and Justice of the Peace Courts.
The county is served by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, which is responsible for law enforcement and jail operations. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for fire prevention and investigation.
