Reynolds County is located in the southeastern corner of Missouri and is part of the Ozark Foothills Region. The county seat is Centerville. The County was organized on February 14, 1845.
The county is governed by a three-member County Commission, which is elected in November of every even-numbered year. The County Commission is responsible for setting the county budget, levying taxes, and overseeing county departments.
The county is served by the Reynolds County R-II School District, which operates two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
The county is also served by the Reynolds County Ambulance District, which provides emergency medical services to the county.
The county is home to several state parks, including Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, Elephant Rocks State Park, and Taum Sauk Mountain State Park.
