San Patricio County is governed by a four-member Commissioners Court, which consists of a County Judge and four County Commissioners. The County Judge is the presiding officer of the court and is elected county-wide. The four County Commissioners are elected from four single-member districts.
San Patricio County is located in the Coastal Bend region of Texas. It is bordered by Nueces, Aransas, Refugio, and San Patricio Counties. The county seat is Sinton. The county was created in 1836. The county is home to the Port of Corpus Christi, the fifth largest port in the United States. The county is also home to the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, the largest naval air station in the United States.
