Sherborn is a small, affluent residential town located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in the MetroWest region of Greater Boston, approximately 25 miles southwest of downtown Boston. With a population of approximately 4,100 to 4,500 residents, Sherborn is one of the smaller communities in Middlesex County by population but maintains a high quality of life characterized by generous residential lots, extensive natural areas, preserved farmland, and excellent public schools. Sherborn's governance operates through the traditional Massachusetts town meeting structure, with a Board of Selectmen, town administrator, and annual town meeting making key decisions. The Sherborn School Committee oversees the local elementary and middle schools, with high school students attending the Dover-Sherborn Regional High School.
