Skamania County is located in the southwestern part of Washington State, and is bordered by the Columbia River to the north, the Cascade Mountains to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The county seat is Stevenson, and the largest city is Vancouver. Skamania County is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners, who are elected to four-year terms.
