About Stevens County, Washington
Stevens County is located in the northeastern corner of Washington State. It is bordered by Canada to the north, Pend Oreille County to the east, Spokane County to the south, and Ferry County to the west. The county seat is Colville.
The county was created in 1863. The county is home to the Colville Indian Reservation, which is the largest reservation in the state.
The county is governed by a three-member Board of County Commissioners, who are elected to four-year terms. The county also has a number of elected officials, including a sheriff, prosecutor, auditor, treasurer, assessor, and clerk.
The county is served by two school districts, Colville School District and Nine Mile Falls School District. The county also has a number of private schools.
