About Webb County, Texas
Webb County is located in the south of Texas, on the border with Mexico. It is part of the Laredo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county seat is Laredo.
The county is governed by a four-member Commissioners Court, with each member representing one of four precincts. The county judge is the presiding officer of the court, and is elected county-wide. Other members include the county clerk, district clerk, sheriff, and tax assessor-collector.
Webb County is part of the Texas 8th Congressional District. The county is also part of the Texas Senate District 20, and the Texas House District 43.
Webb County is home to several state parks, including Lake Casa Blanca International State Park, Lake Amistad National Recreation Area, and Falcon State Park. The county is also home to the Laredo Community College, the University of Texas at Austin-Laredo, and the Laredo Medical Center.
