Atkinson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 8,375. The county seat is Pearson. The county was created on August 15, 1917.
Atkinson County is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners, elected from single-member districts. The Chairman of the Board is elected at-large. The current Chairman is Robert D. "Bob" McLeod.
