Eaton County is located in the central region of Michigan. It is bordered by Clinton County to the north, Ingham County to the east, Jackson County to the south, and Barry and Ionia counties to the west. The county seat is Charlotte. As of the 2010 census, the population was 107,759.
The county government is organized into three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. The executive branch is headed by the County Executive, who is elected by the people of Eaton County. The legislative branch is composed of the Board of Commissioners, which is also elected by the people. The judicial branch is composed of the Circuit Court, Probate Court, and District Court.
