The registration deadline is 8 days before any election for online registration, or Election Day for in-person registration at voter service centers. Voters must be U.S. Citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and Colorado residents for at least 22 days preceding the election. Valid Colorado driver's license or ID number, or the last four digits of a Social Security number, are required for registration. The town holds municipal elections for mayor and town trustees on regular schedules determined by town charter; these elections typically occur in April of odd-numbered years, with the next scheduled for April 2025 and subsequently April 2027. Interested candidates must file nomination petitions with the town clerk by the statutory deadline, usually late January for April elections. Local ballot measures specific to the community, such as tax questions or charter amendments, appear on the same municipal election ballots when proposed. Colorado voters will elect a Governor (current term expires January 2027), all statewide constitutional officers including Secretary of State, Attorney General, and Treasurer, Colorado State House and Senate representatives for relevant districts covering Prowers County, and all county offices including county commissioners, sheriff, clerk and recorder, assessor, treasurer, coroner, and surveyor. While no U.S. Voters will decide on any state constitutional amendments, ballot initiatives, county questions, and municipal matters if scheduled to coincide.
