Voters must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and residents of their precinct for at least 30 days prior to the election. Online registration requires a driver's license or state ID number. The registration deadline is 16 days before any election for online and mail registration, though Illinois offers grace period registration through Election Day at designated locations. The November 3, 2026 general election will be significant for Grayslake voters. Illinois will not have a U.S. Senate race in 2026 (Senator Dick Durbin's seat is up in 2026, while Senator Tammy Duckworth's term extends to 2028), but all U.S. House seats including Illinois' 10th Congressional District (which includes Grayslake) will be contested. The 2026 election will feature races for Illinois Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and other constitutional officers.
