Texas residents can register to vote online through the Texas Secretary of State's website at texas.gov, or by submitting a completed voter registration application by mail or in person to the Pecos County Voter Registrar. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, Texas residents, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and not finally convicted of a felony unless they have completed their sentence, probation, and parole. The registration deadline falls 30 days before an election. While Texas doesn't require photo ID to register, voters must provide their Texas driver's license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number on the application. The city holds municipal elections for city council and mayor positions, typically on the uniform election date in May of odd-numbered years as prescribed by Texas Election Code.
