The registration deadline is 15 days before any election. Pennsylvania makes extensive election records publicly available: voter registration lists can be purchased from the Elk County elections office for legitimate purposes, campaign finance reports are searchable through the Pennsylvania Department of State website, candidate filings are available at the Elk County office, and precinct-level election results are published online and maintained permanently. In the November 2024 presidential election, Elk County reported approximately 70% voter turnout, with roughly 18,000 registered voters and approximately 12,600 ballots cast, reflecting high engagement typical of presidential cycles in rural Pennsylvania counties. Looking ahead to November 3, 2026, voters in the area will decide the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race (Governor Josh Shapiro's term expires in 2027), though he would be running in 2026 for continuation. They will also vote for statewide races including one U.S. Senate seat if scheduled, Pennsylvania Attorney General, Auditor General, State Treasurer, and State Representative for the 75th Legislative District that covers Elk County.
