Oregon operates entirely by mail-in voting under ORS 254.470, which means all registered voters automatically receive ballots by mail approximately 18-20 days before each election. There are no traditional polling places on Election Day. For the November 3, 2026 general election, local voters will decide several significant races: Governor of Oregon (four-year term, as 2026 is a gubernatorial election year in Oregon), Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Attorney General, and other statewide offices; Oregon's 2nd Congressional District U.S. Representative; state legislative seats for Oregon House and Senate; Deschutes County Commissioner positions (depending on which positions are up for election in 2026); and various county offices and local ballot measures including potential tax levies, bond issues, and county charter amendments. Oregon does not hold U.S. Senate elections in 2026 (Oregon's Senate seats are up in 2026 and 2028 on the regular cycle, with Senator Jeff Merkley's seat up in 2026).
