Oregon operates entirely by mail-in voting under ORS 254.470, which means all registered voters automatically receive ballots by mail approximately 18-20 days before each election. There are no traditional polling places on Election Day. The state offers same-day voter registration through Election Day under the Motor Voter law. To register, applicants must be U.S. Citizens, at least 16 years old (though they must be 18 to vote), and Oregon residents.
