Tribal governance operates under the Mashantucket Pequot Constitution and remains separate from Connecticut electoral processes. Connecticut holds regular statewide elections in even-numbered years, with the next major election on November 3, 2026. That election will include races for Governor (four-year term), all Connecticut General Assembly seats (151 State Representatives for two-year terms and all odd-numbered Senate districts), Secretary of the State, State Treasurer, State Comptroller, and Attorney General. Connecticut does not have a U.S. Senate seat up in 2026, as Senators Blumenthal and Murphy are on different cycles. New London County voters in 2026 will also decide county-level offices including the High Sheriff, though Connecticut counties have limited governmental functions.
