As an incorporated city, San Ramon conducts municipal elections for Mayor and City Council positions. The Mayor serves a four-year term, while the five City Council members serve staggered four-year terms with either two or three seats contested every two years. The next municipal election is scheduled for November 2026, when voters will elect the Mayor and two City Council seats.
