New York voters can register online through the New York State Board of Elections at https://voterreg.dmv.ny.gov/MotorVoter/, by mail using a downloadable registration form, or in person at the Clinton County Board of Elections or DMV offices. The registration deadline is 25 days before an election for in-person or online registration, and postmarked 25 days before for mail registration. Acceptable forms of identification for first-time voters include a driver's license number, the last four digits of a Social Security number, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document showing name and address.
