Tomball, Texas Public Records

Registration must be completed 30 days before an election. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, county residents, not finally convicted of a felony (or have completed their sentence including probation or parole), and not declared mentally incapacitated by a court. While photo ID is not required to register, Texas does require one of seven acceptable forms of photo ID to vote in person, or submission of a Reasonable Impediment Declaration for those lacking proper identification. Tomball operates under a council-manager form of government with a mayor and six council members serving staggered terms. Early voting takes place at Tomball City Hall and the Tomball Community Center. Candidate filing information and sample ballots are posted at www.tomballtx.gov. For county, state, and federal elections, residents can locate their assigned polling place using the tool at www.harrisvotes.com by entering their address. The website also lists early voting locations throughout Harris County, which typically includes several sites in the Tomball area. The Texas Election Code designates voter registration lists as public records available for purchase by candidates and political parties, though not for commercial purposes. Campaign finance reports for candidates and political committees must be filed with the Texas Ethics Commission at www.ethics.state.tx.us, where the public can search reports online. After each election is canvassed, the Harris County Elections Administrator publishes precinct-level results at www.harrisvotes.com. 4 million votes cast with turnout around 60% of registered voters, reflecting the area's competitive nature in recent statewide contests. All U.S. House seats will be decided, with Texas fielding 38 congressional districts and Tomball currently in District 8 represented by Morgan Luttrell. All Texas House seats will be contested, with District 150 serving much of Tomball. Half of the Texas Senate seats come up for election if District 4 or 15 is scheduled for 2026.
