About Bonner County, Idaho

Bonner County is located in the northern part of Idaho, and is the fifth largest county in the state. It is bordered by Kootenai County to the west, Boundary County to the east, and Shoshone County to the south. The county seat is Sandpoint, and the largest city is Ponderay. The county was established in 1907 and named after Edwin L. Bonner, an early settler in the area.

As of the 2010 census, the population of Bonner County was 40,877. The county has a total area of 1,743 square miles, of which 1,717 square miles is land and 26 square miles is water. The county is home to several state parks, including Farragut State Park, Priest Lake State Park, and Round Lake State Park.
