Texas voters can register online through the Texas Secretary of State website at www.votetexas.gov, or by completing a voter registration application available from the Lamar County Clerk, any Texas driver license office, or downloadable from the state website. Applications must be postmarked or submitted at least 30 days before an election to be eligible to vote. Texas requires voters to provide their Texas driver license number or personal identification number issued by the Department of Public Safety, or if the applicant has not been issued these numbers, the last four digits of the applicant's social security number. As an unincorporated community, Brookston does not hold municipal elections for city council or mayor positions.
