Those who miss the deadline can use conditional voter registration at the Tulare County elections office or any vote center through Election Day. Registration requires California residency, U.S. Citizenship, age 18 or older by Election Day, and not currently serving a state prison sentence for a felony conviction. Since the community is unincorporated, it has no mayor, city council, or municipal elections. Residents vote in elections for Tulare County Board of Supervisors (five districts, four-year staggered terms), sheriff, district attorney, assessor, auditor-controller, clerk-recorder, treasurer-tax collector, and various county board members. The area falls within Board of Supervisors District 4. Voters also participate in Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District board elections, typically held in November of even-numbered years. Polling place assignments can be found by entering your address at Tulare County's online lookup tool at www.tularecoelections.org or by calling the Registrar of Voters office. California transitioned to the Voters Choice Act model, and Tulare County now operates vote centers rather than traditional precinct polling places, any registered county voter can vote at any vote center during the early voting period or on Election Day. In the November 2024 presidential election, Tulare County reported approximately 106,000 ballots cast from roughly 195,000 registered voters, yielding a turnout rate near 54%, slightly below the statewide California turnout of approximately 59%. On November 3, 2026, local voters will decide several important races: the California gubernatorial election (Governor Gavin Newsom term-limited, open race), all 80 California State Assembly seats including District 26 which includes the area, half of the 40 California State Senate seats (odd-numbered districts including District 14 covering Tulare County), several county offices likely including sheriff and possibly supervisor seats depending on district rotation, school board seats, and various county measures and special district board positions. No U.S. Senate seat from California is scheduled for election in 2026. All California counties use the top-two primary system adopted in 2010, where all candidates regardless of party appear on the June primary ballot, and the top two vote-getters advance to the November general election. Vote-by-mail ballots are automatically sent to all registered California voters under laws expanded in 2020 and made permanent in 2021. Voters can request to opt out and vote in person instead.
