This arrangement ensures that both incorporated cities and unincorporated communities receive law enforcement coverage, with resources and intelligence shared across departmental boundaries as circumstances demand.

California residents can register online at registertovote.ca.gov up to 15 days before any election, providing their California driver's license or ID number, or the last four digits of their Social Security number, along with attestation of U.S. Citizenship and California residency. Conditional voter registration is available on Election Day and during the 14 days preceding it at designated locations. As an unincorporated community, Earlimart has no municipal elections for mayor or city council. Instead, residents participate in Tulare County Board of Supervisors elections covering five districts with staggered four-year terms, California State Assembly and Senate races, statewide ballot measures, school board elections for the Earlimart School District and local high school districts, and federal elections. The next Earlimart School District trustee elections are scheduled for November 2026. Voters can look up their assigned polling place and vote center locations at tulare.ca.gov/elections/polling-places or by calling the Registrar directly. California shifted to a vote center model under the Voter's Choice Act, allowing any registered voter in participating counties to cast ballots at any vote center in Tulare County during the 11 days preceding and including Election Day. In the November 2024 presidential election, Tulare County reported approximately 58% voter turnout among registered voters, with roughly 108,000 ballots cast from a registration base of about 185,000. On November 3, 2026, voters here will decide several significant races: the California gubernatorial election (Governor Gavin Newsom's term expires in 2027), all 80 State Assembly seats including District 26 which covers the community, half of the 40 California State Senate seats, Tulare County Supervisor races in Districts 2 and 4, the Tulare County Sheriff, District Attorney, Assessor-Clerk-Recorder, Auditor-Controller, and Treasurer-Tax Collector. No U.S. Senate seat from California is scheduled for election in 2026 (next in 2028). California offers universal vote-by-mail; every registered voter automatically receives a ballot by mail approximately 29 days before Election Day, which can be returned postage-free by mail (postmarked by Election Day), deposited in official drop boxes (by 8 p.m. Election Day), or surrendered in exchange for in-person voting at any vote center. Public election records available through the Registrar include precinct-level results published online within days of certification, voter registration statistics by precinct, candidate and ballot measure filings, campaign finance disclosure statements (Form 460 and 496) filed by candidates and committees under the California Political Reform Act, and historical election archives dating to the 1980s. Poll worker rosters and voter history (whether someone voted, but not how they voted) are also public under California Elections Code Section 2194.
