In the November 2024 presidential election, Schenectady County reported approximately 62-65% voter turnout among registered voters, with participation across the county including rural areas like Delanson. On November 3, 2026, voters in the community and throughout Schenectady County will decide several major races: the New York gubernatorial election (Governor Kathy Hochul's term expires in 2026), all 213 seats in the New York State Legislature (63 Senate seats and 150 Assembly seats), including local districts covering the area, Schenectady County offices including County Legislature seats, and potentially the U.S. House of Representatives sefor New York's 20th Congressional District, which includes Schenectady County. No U.S. Senate seat from New York is scheduled for the 2026 ballot. Town of Duanesburg positions may also be on the ballot depending on term schedules.
