Voters must be U.S. Citizens, 18 years old by Election Day, Orange County residents for at least 30 days before the election, and not currently incarcerated for a felony conviction. Acceptable proof of identity includes a driver's license, non-driver ID, or the last four digits of a Social Security number. The Village of Florida holds municipal elections for village trustees and mayor in March of odd-numbered years - most recently March 2025, next scheduled March 2027. These elections are run by the Orange County Board with polling at the designated village location. Voters elect a mayor to a two-year term and trustees to staggered four-year terms. Residents vote at polling places assigned by street address. New York's gubernatorial election will feature Governor Kathy Hochul or her successor running for a four-year term. Orange County will elect a County Executive, all seats of the County Legislature, District Attorney, County Clerk, and Sheriff.Current federal, state, and local election schedules, ballot contests, candidate filings, and certified results for Florida voters are published by the New York State Board of Elections (https://elections.ny.gov/). Depending on redistricting, the community falls in New York's 18th or 19th Congressional District for U.S. House races, with all House seats up every two years. New York public election records include voter registration lists - available with restricted personal information under Election Law §5-508 for legitimate political purposes - campaign finance disclosures filed with the State Board and searchable at publicreporting.elections.ny.gov, candidate petitions and certificates of nomination filed with the Board, and official election results by election district available from the Orange County Board and posted at www.orangecountygov.com/elections after certification. Absentee ballots are available to any registered voter. Requests can be submitted online through the Board's voter portal, by mail, or in person. The absentee ballot application deadline is 10 days before Election Day if applying by mail, or the day before Election Day if applying in person. Completed absentee ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the Board within seven days after the election to be counted. Early voting is available at designated Orange County sites, typically starting 9 days before Election Day.
