Voters can register online through the New York State Board of Elections website at https://voterreg.dmv.ny.gov/MotorVoter/, which allows electronic registration for citizens with a New York State driver license or non-driver ID. New York requires registration at least 25 days before an election. First-time voters must provide proof of residence and meet eligibility requirements: U.S. Citizenship, age 18 by election date, and county residency at least 30 days before the election. As an unincorporated hamlet without its own municipal government, residents do not vote in city or village elections. Instead, they participate in Town of Roxbury elections for Town Supervisor, Town Council, Town Clerk, and other town offices, typically held in odd-numbered years on the Tuesday following the first Monday in November. Applications must be received by the Board of Elections at least seven days before the election if requesting mail delivery, or the day before the election if picking up in person. New York allows absentee voting for several reasons including absence from the county on election day, illness or disability, and duties related to primary care of individuals who are ill or disabled. Early voting is available in New York at designated early voting sites; Delaware County typically establishes early voting locations in Delhi and other county sites during the nine days preceding an election, with schedules posted at https://www.co.delaware.ny.us/departments/boe/boe.htm.
