Applications must be received or postmarked at least 25 days before an election for voters to participate. Acceptable identification includes driver licenses, state ID cards, or the last four digits of a Social Security number. New York does not offer same-day registration. At the local level, the town conducts elections for Town Supervisor, Town Council members, Town Clerk, Town Justice, and other offices. The Village of Harrison, a separate incorporated entity within town boundaries, holds village elections for Mayor and Village Trustees typically each June; Candidates file petitions with the Westchester County Board of Elections, and information about local candidates and ballot measures appears on the Westchester County website and through local media as election dates approach. Residents can locate their assigned polling place using the Polling Place Locator at www.westchestergov.com/elections/polling-place-search or by calling the Board of Elections. Local polling sites include the Harrison Community Center, area schools, and other public facilities depending on the voter's election district. Under New York election law, certain records are public information. Voter registration lists are available for inspection by candidates and political committees for election related purposes. Campaign finance disclosure reports filed with either the Westchester County Board of Elections (for local races) or the New York State Board of Elections (for state races) are open for public inspection. Election results by district are published on the Westchester County website after canvassing is complete. New York's gubernatorial election will feature the Governor and Lieutenant Governor positions on the ballot. All 213 seats in the New York State Legislature will be up for election, including representatives for Harrison's State Senate and Assembly districts. Harrison town offices are elected in odd years (2025, 2027), so town positions will not appear on U.S. However, all U.S. House of Representatives seats are elected every two years, meaning residents will elect their representative to Congress in 2026. New York offers absentee voting for voters who meet qualifying reasons including absence from the county on election day, illness or disability, or being a patient or inmate in a hospital or detention facility.
