Kanona, New York Public Records

Registration must be completed 25 days before any election; same-day registration isn't available in New York. Applicants need to provide their name, address, date of birth, and either a DMV ID or the last four digits of their Social Security number. Because Kanona is an unincorporated hamlet without its own municipal government, there are no separate mayoral or city council elections here. Instead, residents vote in Town of Urbana elections for Town Supervisor, Town Council, Town Clerk, and other local offices. Polling places are assigned based on election district; voters can look up their location at https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/ using their name and date of birth. Early voting is available at designated sites in Steuben County, typically starting the Saturday before Election Day. Absentee ballots are available to any registered voter in New York; applications can be submitted online at https://absenteeballot.elections.ny.gov/ or by contacting the Steuben County Board of Elections. Applications must be received by the Board no later than 10 days before the election if applying by mail, or the day before the election if applying in person.
