Mcdowell County, North Carolina is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is part of the Hickory-Lenoir-Morganton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its county seat is Marion. The county was formed in 1842 from parts of Burke and Rutherford counties.
