The government of Morgan County, Missouri is composed of a three-member County Commission, elected at-large to serve four-year terms. The County Commission is the legislative and executive body of the county government. The County Commission is responsible for setting the county budget, levying taxes, and making laws and regulations for the county.
The county seat is Versailles, Missouri. The county is located in the central part of the state, and is bordered by Moniteau, Miller, Cole, and Camden counties.
The county is home to several state parks, including Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Big Muddy National Fish and Wildlife Refuge, and the Mark Twain National Forest. The county is also home to several historic sites, including the Morgan County Courthouse, the Old Versailles Jail, and the Morgan County Museum.
