Voter registration applications must be received or postmarked at least 25 days before an election to be eligible to vote in that election. When registering, voters must provide an Oklahoma driver license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number. Oklahoma requires photo identification to vote in person; acceptable IDs include an Oklahoma driver license, U.S. Passport, military ID, or tribal ID card. Since Redbird is an unincorporated community with no municipal government, there are no city council or mayoral elections specific to the area. Residents vote in county, state, and federal elections only. Wagoner County holds elections for county commissioners (three districts elected on rotating cycles), county sheriff, county clerk, county assessor, county treasurer, and other constitutional county offices, typically during even-numbered years coinciding with state and federal elections. Voters can find their assigned polling place by using the polling place lookup tool on the Oklahoma State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections, entering their address or using the Voter Portal. Precinct assignments and polling locations may change, so voters should verify their polling place before each election. Oklahoma law provides that certain election records are public, including voter registration lists (excluding confidential information such as birth dates and Social Security numbers), campaign finance reports filed by candidates and political action committees, candidate filings and declarations, and precinct-level election results. These records can be accessed through the Oklahoma Ethics Commission website at ethics.ok.gov for campaign finance data, and through the State Election Board for voter registration statistics and election results. Oklahoma will elect a Governor in 2026, as Governor Kevin Stitt's current term expires; all four of Oklahoma's Voters should check with the Wagoner County Election Board closer to the election for a complete list of races and any local ballot measures. Oklahoma permits absentee voting by mail for voters who will be absent from the county on election day, are physically incapacitated, are confined to a nursing home, are serving as an election official in a precinct other than their own, or are a caregiver of a person who is physically incapacitated. Absentee ballot applications can be downloaded from the Oklahoma State Election Board website or requested from the Wagoner County Election Board. Completed applications must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5:00 p.m. The Wednesday before the election. Voted absentee ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. On election day or be postmarked by the day before the election and received no later than three days after the election. Oklahoma also offers early in-person voting on the Friday and Saturday immediately before the election at designated early voting locations announced by the County Election Board.
