Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, residents of both South Carolina and Darlington County, and not serving a sentence for a felony conviction or under a court order declaring them mentally incompetent. As an incorporated town, Society Hill holds municipal elections for mayor and town council seats, typically in odd-numbered years.
