Registration applications must be postmarked or submitted at least 30 days before an election. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, Texas residents, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and not finally convicted of a felony (or have completed sentence, parole, and probation). Acceptable identification includes Texas driver's license, Texas election identification certificate, Texas personal ID card, U.S. Passport, military ID, or citizenship certificate with photo. As an unincorporated community, Voca does not hold municipal elections for mayor or city council. Residents participate in county, state, and federal elections instead. McCulloch County holds elections for County Judge, County Commissioners (four precincts), Sheriff, County Clerk, District Clerk, County Treasurer, Tax Assessor-Collector, County Attorney, and Justice of the Peace positions on varying cycles. Most county offices are elected in midterm election years (2022, 2026, etc.) during the November general election. Local voters can locate their assigned polling places through the Texas Secretary of State's website at www.votetexas.gov or by contacting the McCulloch County Elections office. Early voting locations and times are announced prior to each election, typically including the Mc Culloch County Clerk's office and potentially other locations in Brady. Election Day voting occurs at precinct-specific polling places; residents should confirm their precinct assignment. Texas election records that are public include voter registration lists (available with restrictions to prevent commercial use), campaign finance reports filed by candidates and political committees (searchable through the Texas Ethics Commission at www.ethics.state.tx.us), candidate filing information, and precinct-level election results. The McCulloch County Elections office publishes unofficial results on election night and certifies official results following canvassing. Specific county results are available through the Texas Secretary of State's election results website. Texas will hold elections for Governor (four-year term), Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and other statewide executive offices. All 150 Texas House seats and half of the 31 Texas Senate seats will be contested. The community is located in Texas House District 72 and State Senate District 28; voters should verify current district assignments following any redistricting. McCulloch County offices on the ballot in 2026 will include County Judge, Commissioners from precincts with expiring terms, Sheriff, and various county officials. Local school board positions for Brady ISD may also appear on the ballot. Voters should check with the County Elections office for confirmed ballot content as the election approaches. Texas offers limited mail-in (absentee) voting. Only voters who are 65 or older, disabled, confined in jail but eligible to vote, or expected to be outside their county during the entire early voting period and on Election Day qualify for mail-in ballots. Applications for ballots by mail must be submitted to the McCulloch County Early Voting Clerk (the Mc Culloch County Clerk) and received no later than the close of business 11 days before Election Day.
