Arkansas voters can register online through the Arkansas Secretary of State's website at https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/elections/voter-registration/registration-information or by submitting a completed Arkansas Voter Registration Application to the Polk County Clerk. Registration deadlines require voters to register at least 30 days before an election. Arkansas does not require photo ID to register, but voters must provide their Arkansas driver's license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number on the registration form. New voters who register by mail may be required to provide identification when voting for the first time. Wickes is an unincorporated community and therefore does not hold municipal elections for mayor or city council. Election records in Arkansas are public documents under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. Voter registration lists are available for purchase by political parties, candidates, and researchers, though individual voter records showing whether someone voted in a particular election are also matters of public record. Campaign finance reports for state and local candidates are filed with the Arkansas Ethics Commission and searchable online at https://www.ark.org/ethics/. County-level candidate filings and local campaign finance reports may be filed with the Polk County Clerk. Election results by precinct are certified by the Polk County Board of Election Commissioners and become public records available through the Polk County Clerk. Arkansas holds county elections for various constitutional county offices on staggered schedules.
